Instagram Posts Ideas for your Small Business
If you run a small business, you'll know how much work goes into the day-to-day running of a business. Never mind coming up with content ideas, filming, editing, and posting them to Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms regularly. So we've come up with some content ideas you can film during your day-to-day tasks (it's all about multitasking, right?!) so you can smash out your daily tasks AND create quality content for your customers.
Is your business on social media?
Before we get into the content ideas, let's talk a little about WHY social media is good for small businesses and if it's right for you.
In 2021 there were 1.21 billion users on Instagram every month! That's just ONE platform making up over 28% of total internet users. As of January 2022, there were over 3.2 billion social media users out there. To say there's an opportunity to reach new customers online is an understatement.
Using different forms of content is a great way to increase your small business's social media account too, with video driving over double the total engagement of static image posts and over 20% more clicks than image posts. So whether you're just starting out on social media or you're in need of some new ideas for your business, we've got you covered.
Instagram Reel Video Ideas
1. The face behind the business
Building a brand is so important to any business, and showing customers who you are and why you do what you do will make your business more relatable to customers. Plus, it's super quick and easy to do. Just film a 5-10 second video of yourself whilst working, add text overlay and/or a voice over and you're done.
2. Pack an order with me
This is one we've all seen before, but the clever aspect small businesses have been incorporating is packing specific orders on camera and shouting out the customers who've ordered. Not only does this increase engagement but it also increases sales as customers will buy hoping to be featured in your videos and to see their order being packed.
3. How you make your product
Consumers love behind-the-scenes content and because of the way we consume content these days (quickly!) you can film a few products being made, cut them into different videos and speed them up! Just set your camera or phone up, press record and work away. Such a simple idea that gives your customers an insight into your business without adding hours of extra work onto your day.
4. Tour of your workspace
This one sounds long but it's super simple to do. Get a panning shot of your entire workspace (or the areas you want to show) and then some close ups of things like your organisation, before products, packing area, etc, and add them all to one video. Throw a cool audio track over the top along with some text and/or voiceovers and it's ready!
5. Tidy my workspace with me
After a day of making and packing orders, you're bound to of made a little mess! So set your camera or phone up in the corner, tidy away and record yourself doing it. Sped up these videos are super satisfying to watch and the majority of people will watch to the end to see the finished result. This will help the reach of your account and videos.
