Start Heat Printing University Freshers Week

Schools, universities and clubs need a constant supply of hoodies branded with the year. Many offer hoodies and t-shirts for Leavers as well as annual ski trips, for football or netball teams. And that's without even touching on Freshers Week!

With the next University year starting in less than two months, now is the time to secure Freshers Week business!

There are over 160 Universities in the UK, meaning every year 160+ freshers weeks happen in September.

First of all, what is Freshers Week?

Freshers' Week, often called Welcome Week, is a period at the beginning of the academic year at universities and colleges, particularly in the UK and other parts of Europe, dedicated to welcoming new students (commonly known as "freshers").

Here are some key aspects of Freshers' Week:

  • Orientation
  • Social Events
  • Clubs and Societies Fair
  • Workshops and Seminars
  • Support Services
  • Networking

How does Freshers Week apply to your heat printing business?

Because every year, each university requires an enormous stock of customised printed t-shirts!

When older students are roped into Freshers Week Orientation, they are often given a brightly coloured printed t-shirt to make them stand out from the crowd of first years. Not just this, but the social events often use custom printed t-shirts as promotional gifts to get their freshers to attend.

The largest physical university in the UK is the University College of London with 46,830 students. With more than 400 undergraduate degree programmes at the university, they're likely to need at least 2 or 3 student reps per course during Freshers Week, meaning that the contract for the student reps alone would be 1200 t-shirts. The contract for the student union events would be well over 8000 t-shirts!

In contrast, the University of Buckingham is the smallest University in the UK with just 2700 students. It still offers an impressive 61 undergrad degree programmes with approximately 300 freshers every year. Even the smallest university could offer you a contract for 300+ student union event t-shirts and 180+ student rep t-shirts.
