Stanley/Stella: The Brand Behind the Blanks & Event Announcement
In this episode of The Garment Decorators Podcast, we sit down with Gary Layzell, Brand Ambassador and Field Marketeer at Stanley/Stella. A brand known for its commitment to sustainability, premium quality, and fashion-forward blank garments. We dive into the brand's story, mission, and why they’ve become a go-to for garment decorators across Europe.
We also chat about our exciting event collaboration, WORKWEAR REIMAGINED. The only event dedicated to premium corporate workwear in 2025. From combining cutting-edge heat printing techniques with retail-ready blanks to inspiring decorators to rethink what workwear can look and feel like—this episode is packed with insight, innovation, and plenty of inspiration.
One part of the podcast we found especially engaging was Gary’s perspective on sustainability. When Molly asked him when he believed businesses began shifting toward sustainability, his answer was straightforward yet impactful. Gary pointed out that a simple glance at the news reveals the extent of our impact on the planet.
He also acknowledged a generational shift within the print industry, highlighting that as younger heat printers enter the field, there’s a growing awareness and emphasis on eco-conscious practices. This shift can largely be attributed to the fact that younger generations have grown up amid increasing concern about climate change, plastic pollution, and resource depletion. Unlike previous generations, who may have seen environmentalism as a niche movement, many young people today view sustainability as a necessity, not a choice. They’ve been educated in a world where environmental issues are front and center, and as a result, they tend to place a higher value on ethical production, reducing carbon footprints, and supporting brands that align with their values. Their influence is helping to reshape industries, like print, from the inside out.
