Creating a Streetwear inspired Clothing Line

What is streetwear?

Streetwear is a casual fashion style that emerged from urban culture, blending elements of skate, surf, hip-hop, and sportswear influences. It is characterised by comfortable, everyday clothing like graphic T-shirts, hoodies, sneakers, and oversized silhouettes, often featuring bold logos, unique designs, and limited-edition drops. Streetwear is deeply rooted in self-expression, exclusivity, and brand culture, with strong ties to youth movements, music, and art. It blurs the line between high fashion and casual wear, making it a dynamic and influential force in global fashion trends.

There are two defining trends for streetwear in 2025: textures and over-sized prints.

So how can you produce garments with textures and a large surface area?
Custom Heat Transfers!

Custom heat transfers are one of the easiest ways to decorate garments. They are made up of personalized designs or graphics that can be transferred onto various fabrics, using a professional heat press like a Hotronix.

Two types of heat transfers are perfect for printing textures and/or printing large-scale transfers

UltraColour Heat Transfers

The first is the UltraColour and UltraColour MAX range from Stahls' UK.

UltraColour is a high-detail photorealistic heat transfer that recreates your uploaded designs perfectly. These heat transfers are so high-detail that you can even upload JPEG photos and receive a heat transfer that is an identical match to the original image.
Use this type of heat transfer if you want to recreate textures such as metallic oils, faux leather/embroidery as well as using a large spectrum of colour.

UltraColour Max is a DTF heat transfer with a minimum order of just 1. Choose this for low-quantity runs or for its 1 metre size sheet which is perfect for over-sized graphics.

Switch to UltraColour (a hybrid heat transfer) for orders of over 10 sheets. The more you order, the lower the price per sheet. This heat transfer is waterbased making it an eco-friendly choice for your business.

1-5 Colour Screen Printed Heat Transfers.

Screen Printed heat transfers are made from real plastisol inks and are ideal for bold prints when solid colour fills are required.

People love the feel of a traditional-style screen print because it naturally lends itself to a vintage, worn-in look that many find appealing. This vintage aesthetic is highly sought after in streetwear fashion, as it gives clothing a timeless, well-loved appearance.

Despite the fact you can use up to 5 different colours per design, 1-3 colours tend to be the more cost-effective choice when using this type of heat transfer. Minimum order quantity of 10 sheets.

This particular transfer from Stahls' UK comes in a Jumbo sheet size of 43x67cm, which is perfect for creating those oversized heat transfer designs. And don't forget, you can gang up all your designs onto one sheet to lower your cost per transfer. Just cut them out when it arrives.
